Berke Sahin is an MSc candidate in the Department of Community Health and Epidemiology at Dalhousie University, where he works under the supervision of Dr. Sanja Stanojevic. He completed his undergraduate degree in Medical Sciences (Hons) at Dalhousie University, where he first became interested in respiratory health research.
His thesis investigates how socioeconomic status and distance to care relate to health outcomes among people with cystic fibrosis in Nova Scotia.
What draws him to this work is the application of statistical concepts to address real world health equity concepts in his community. Outside of research, Berke enjoys playing soccer, cooking, and cycling. He grew up in Kayseri, Turkey, and he loves to try local ice cream shops.
