Claire Thiessen

Claire is a second-year MSc student studying Epidemiology and Applied Health Research in the Department of Community Health and Epidemiology at Dalhousie University. Her thesis project is on immigration and lung function decline in the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging (CLSA).

Originally from Southern Ontario, Claire completed her undergraduate degree in honours public health (co-op) at the University of Waterloo with an honours thesis on mental health and fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD) in Northwestern Ontario. Health equity is a passion for her and the common thread that connects her research interests.

Outside of research, Claire enjoys exploring the coastal hikes of Nova Scotia with her dog, Hattie.
